Well things certainly seem to be picking up for the telecom equipment suppliers.

Nortel Networks have been busy beavers, with the following contracts for cellular phone service providers:

China Mobile Selects Nortel Networks for Wireless Network Expansion in Hebei Province
China Mobile has selected Nortel Networks to expand and optimize its GSM digital wireless network in Hebei province under an agreement estimated at US$46 million The agreement covers the first stage of the latest Hebei expansion for China Mobile, the world's largest GSM carrier based on number of subscribers. Nortel Networks, Orange Deploy UMTS in Cannes

Not to be outdone Ericsson grabbed a few contracts of their own:

Normally, over the last couple of years, I take news like this with a grain of salt. But I have also been receiving an increase in enquiries about my availability to do consulting work in various locations. This leads me to believe (or hope maybe is a better term), that things are finally turning around.

We shall see.
